I may take a break from doing some art journal pages and do some layouts or other projects very soon. We shall see….stay tuned for more!
So many times, we see beauty in the synthesized, manufactured, and man-made things in life.
Art Journal Prompt: Use a natural element (don’t even think of using a tree or a flower) as a focal-piece of your art journal and use a new technique you’ve never used. Snip a piece of rosemary, a leaf, or look at an interesting cloud. Look at the item close-up and use it as a pattern!
If you can’t tell, I spent the weekends in the woods. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but am so glad to be home!
Art Journal Prompt: What is the name of your favorite TV show? Use that as a jumping-off point for an Art Journal page!
Honesty Moment: Mine is Golden Girls. That would be a great art journal page! I think I know what my next page will be!
Take a walk around your neighborhood. Seriously, it’s the middle of summer. Get off of your iPhone, iPad, Android (my personal favorite!), computer, or other gadget and get outside! There’s a whole world out there!
While you’re outside, pick up something that can be adhered to your art journal. No, not a leaf or a twig. That’s WAY too easy!
Art Journal Prompt: Pick up some trash. Something that will make both the earth AND your art journal prettier! Use this trash as your inspiration for your page and maybe journal about how you’re helping save our environment one piece of trash at a time!
These art journal pages were made in a recycled book by starting with a layer of gesso and then distress stains. Using homemade stencils, I added layers of distress inks, collage elements, and penwork! Hope to see you at the class 8/18 @ 1:30! Call Scrappin’ Time to sign up today!
