Music means so much to me that I have a hard time putting in words the effect it has on me. My entire day can be completely changed by music. I listen to so such a wide variety of music that each song can affect my day a little bit in its own way. I may listen to Miles Davis for a mellow mood, then switch to Lady GaGa to dance, then maybe some Ella Fitzgerald to put me into a swingin’ mood, and then some Rick Astley for an 80’s boppy vibe! Where am I going with this? Well, keep reading, antsy pants!
Art Journal Prompt: Go to your iPod, phone, record collection, CD collection, 8 tracks, or any other form of musical media and pick one song to listen to at random. Listen to the entire song and select one lyric to be the inspiration for your page. Even if you don’t do the page today, write down the lyric on that page to remind you what to do at a later date when you are feeling the inspiration of that lyric.
Honesty Moment: You know I love me some Lady GaGa. Like, LOVE me some Lady GaGa. I am working on a page right now in my art journal that says, of course, Born This Way. I am always trying to think of new things to say and and put in my art journal that’s not totally cliche. As I type, I am listening to Iron Maiden’s “Strange World” and think I may have to do a really funky page which says “I’m happy in my new, strange world” as I love the strange little world that I live in! Inspiration can be found quite literally EVERYWHERE. You have to find inspiration, though…it doesn’t often come looking for you.
