As I have been fairly busy with life lately, I haven’t had much time to create. HOWEVER, I do have a new ABC’s of Art Journaling page, which I’m happy with and a mixed media project video coming up. I have to finish editing, which I hate doing, but until then I figured I would share another project I did but didn’t do a video on.
I, as you may already know, love Lady GaGa. I love her style, I love her attitude, I love her music, I love her. I do. I make no apologies for it. My wife does not want my many posters and projects re: GaGa in our house, so I’ve decided to turn our garage into a GaGarage! I have some posters up and painted an old piece of particleboard which broke under my son’s bed. Why throw it away? It’s a free canvas!
Essentially, I gessoed the board (two layers), pained it with quinacridone magenta paint, then sprayed black paint through a letter stencil, created white india ink paint drips, cut out the letters from my Cricut, cut out GaGa off the cover of Vogue and adhered everything with matte medium. Then I upcycled an old earring (the silver circles) and glued spikes to them and linked them with many layers of chain. The result? A happy, attitudey piece of art for the entrance to my GaGarage!
