I have been using my 5 Minute Art Journal Pages to really do a lot of personal reflection and to try to adjust my art journaling style.
This page was an homage to Donna Downey as she used the same rubons in a similar manner and even with similar colors. When I started this page, this was not my intent. I used Neocolor II crayons to create the base colors then added a layer of White Linen and Calypso Teal Dylusions. Once that was dry, I concocted a new color of spray ink by mixing Cut Grass, Lemon Zest, and Calypso Teal Dylusions and a little water. I sprayed the mixture through a Heidi Swapp hexagon stencil and once the ink dried, stamped a text stamp through the hexagons.
I added the rubons randomly onto the page a la Donna Downey or DD as I call her… And then did the letters with black and white pens. I ended up using this as a 5 Minute Art Journal Page because the full background, including rubons took roughly 5 minutes if you exclude drying time, which I do!
You may want to make some awesome 5 minute Art Journal backgrounds and then just journal on them once they dry in front of the television or before bed. This is a great way to be able to ensure you’re journaling in your art journal!
