Hello, all! This 5 minute art journal page was super fun and really easy to do! I scraped some metallic craft paints in seafoam green and lilac onto the page in various layers with an old gift card. Then, once it was dry, I dropped white india ink onto the page, dried it briefly, then sprayed it with water and smeared it around, which gave it a really cool patina effect. Finally, I stamped some hexagons using a homemade hexagon stamp and some black gesso. A little white penwork and the page was good enough for me.
You’re NEVER going to guess what I used to create my hexagon stamp. I found a bag of wooden hexagons from a thrift store for $2.00! You remember these from childhood, they had red triangles, blue squares, and yellow hexagons. I’m completely enamored by this trend. Hexagons are fun, give a lot of character to the page and just make me happy! So, I took one of the wooden hexagons, glued a piece of foam to it, and cut around the edges. Now, POOF, I have an instant hexagon stamp. I LOVE a good thrift store find!
