Why not use the materials and supplies we use in our craft rooms in ways which will help us in real life?! I bought a Kindle Paperwhite (WHICH I LOVE, by the way!) so that I could get most of my textbooks in digital format which will help with transportation, switching between books, and reading in the dark. I needed a case, so I bought one from Amazon…for $45.00. My wife was not overly happy about that. So, I told her I would cancel the order and MAKE ONE!
I used a canvas dropcloth (from the hardware store) to sew a simple pocket case with a piece of grungeboard in it to act as a stabilizer. I then added a small magnet in the bottom right corner so that the Kindle would turn on and off as I put it in and took it out of the case (a cool feature that they don’t tell you about unless you buy the case from them.
Then I added some acrylic paint, some stamping, and glued some embellishments on. I’m really happy with how it came out and know it’s safe in its canvas house with the grungeboard backing! Hope you enjoy this and get inspired to use your art on something in your every day life!
