Mixed Media Index Card (ICAD)-Friends

This ICAD (Index Card a Day) was made upon request, uh…demand is actually more appropriate, by my best friend.  We were sitting in my craft room testing out new stamps from Viva Las Vegastamps and she turned to me and said, “Make me an ICAD.”  So, I did!  I wrote a naughty word on it because we’re a couple of sailors, but covered it up so that she knows the naughty word is there, but can’t see it.  The card was made using Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Donna Salazar Mix’d Media Inx, UmWow Studio stencils, Tim Holtz Tissue Tape, and a black Stabilo pen.

While my best friend was at my house, she absconded with one of my other ICADs and I am searching desperately for the footage because it came out very pretty and soft.  Oh, well…guess I’ll have to try to duplicate the results!

Mixed Media Index Card (ICAD)-Imagination

I’m a space dork.  Big time.  I love space and the concept of travel and finding extraterrestrial life.  This ICAD is an homage to that theme while the brown colors signify me keeping my feet planted on planet Earth while my imagination takes me anywhere I’d like to go.  I used my faux resin paper technique, Archival Ink, Distress Paint, Golden Fluid Acrylic, Pitt Big Brush Markers, Um Wow Studio embellishments, and Distress Ink.  Lots of products for one little card!

This mixed media card has a lot of meaning for me, but I didn’t feel the necessity to title it.  I used a ton of stamping and Distress Ink with some free motion stitching around the edge of the butterfly’s wings.  Hope you enjoy this simple little card.

Mixed Media ICAD-Embrace Imperfection

A friend of mine sent me some ATCs and a few goodies a few months ago while I was in school.  I told her I’d return the favor but it would take a while because of my busy school schedule.  I hope she thinks it was worth the wait!!!  This index card, along with the Have Courage  ICAD were sent off to her last week and arrived earlier this week, with a few other goodies, of course.

This ICAD was made using the Star Confetti Mask made by UmWow Studio.  The 3D texture of the stars with the creamy Antique Linen Distress Ink background really started to get pulled together when I used a Tim Holtz sticker to tie it all together with orange spatters.  You know I’ve been obsessed with orange lately!  After some machine stitching, some more Distress Inking, and some Tim Holtz rubons, this ICAD was done for my friend Pam!  She loved it, hope you do as well!

I made this cute ICAD (mixed media index card) using an index card which had some dried paint on it and a few Tim Holtz stickers.  I’ve also been obsessed with my sewing machine lately, so of course I threw some stitching on there.  Hope you enjoy this mixed media mini masterpiece!  Alliterating Aaron attacks again!

Mixed Media ICAD “Stupid Skinny B!#%h”

Another Mixed Media Index Card a Day or ICAD video is here!  In this one, I use acrylic paint,  Archival Ink, stamping, and collage to create this ICAD.

***NOTE:  The comment is not intended to inflame anyone, but it’s a comment about my own anger at not having lost any weight recently.  I’m projecting my anger on this beautiful skinny model.  It’s tongue-in-cheek, so please understand that I am not a thinist aka someone who hates thin people.  I’ve known many thin people who were decent people and I’ve seen them eat, too!  🙂

Here’s another ICAD video, y’all! In this mixed media adventure, I used acrylic paint, image transfer with gel medium, collage, and PITT Big Brush pens. I really love this one! Hope you do, too!
