This is a fun page with lots of collage, lots of color, and lots of not caring what the final product looked like! This, ladies and gentlemen, is what FUN looks like…in mixed media, anyway!

I used a few different colors of acrylic paints, my sew stamper (with its satanic pigment ink which NEVER DRIES), collage with a lot of Mod Podge, Archival Ink, and a foam stamp. Hope you like this colorful and super busy page!
I will be honest, this page is not one of my favorites, but I made it and figured I’d share it. I used acrylic, collage, a bunch of stamping with Distress Ink (which ends up getting mostly washed away), and some India Ink.
The reason I share pages I may not be personally pleased with is to show you that sometimes it’s okay to just create and make a mess. It seems like so many artists out there create fabulous spreads each and every time, but you shouldn’t feel pressured to constantly be perfect. Mistakes happen, ugly pages happen, and the mistakes and ugly pages are what helps us grow and learn.
Hello, all! As I continue to work in my trash-to-art journal book, I found myself wanting to journal about my relationship with one of my best friends. While I’m not particularly crazy about the final look of this page, I did some fun techniques, managed to save the first title I wrote on the page and truly love the sentiment and what the page represents.
I nearly didn’t get a video out this week, but my wife slept in for an hour later than I did, so I hauled tucchus to the studio and editing this video in that time!

***NOTE: Sorry about the sound…sometimes my computer doesn’t cooperate with me.
Another Mixed Media Index Card a Day or ICAD video is here! In this one, I use acrylic paint, Archival Ink, stamping, and collage to create this ICAD.
***NOTE: The comment is not intended to inflame anyone, but it’s a comment about my own anger at not having lost any weight recently. I’m projecting my anger on this beautiful skinny model. It’s tongue-in-cheek, so please understand that I am not a thinist aka someone who hates thin people. I’ve known many thin people who were decent people and I’ve seen them eat, too! 🙂
Here’s another ICAD video, y’all! In this mixed media adventure, I used acrylic paint, image transfer with gel medium, collage, and PITT Big Brush pens. I really love this one! Hope you do, too!
The ABC Art Journal Series “U” page is here! This page is made with pretty much only collage and acrylic paint, but I really like how it came out. Hope you like it, too! Remember, new videos will be forthcoming every Sunday until at least the middle of October (that’s when my stash of videos runs dry, so hopefully I can get some new stuff made and recorded)!
Hello, everyone! Here’s an ICAD video for you! This card was made using a baby wipe, some stamping with acrylic paint and even more acrylic paint.
Hello, everyone! Here’s an ICAD video for you! I have already started reading for college even though the semester doesn’t start until Monday, August 26th! This ICAD is pretty great, in my opinion. What’s so great about ICADs is that they are like miniature versions of art journal pages! This ICAD uses acrylic paint, a semi-failed transfer technique, stamping, and collage. If you feel you don’t have time to art journal, make sure you’re either challenging yourself to a 5 minute art journal page or do an ICAD. Hope you all enjoy!
***NOTE: If the video comes up private, try the video again in a couple hours. I’m still trying to get the timing of scheduling posts and videos just right!
The ABC Art Journal Series continues with the Q & R 2-page spread! I really felt like doing two pages this time around, even though the next video will be a 2-page spread, too! This page used Liquid Acrylic paint, Gesso, Distress Ink, PanPastels, and regular acrylic paint. Hope you enjoy!
